POWPOW Dog Sweater was designed for and inspired by #281192 AKA Pow-Pow, a beautiful, sweet and smart pibble, my spouse and I foster for Multnomah County Animal Services.

POWPOW is knit in the round with a top-down seamless construction. It’s knit in stockinette stitch with I-cord bound edges on the top, bottom and wide leg-hole of the sweater. A single raglan increase is made at the center-front of the sweater, which creates shaping for your dog’s chest.

The idea for POWPOW came as a response to the challenge of wrangling long, squirming dog legs into small and often tight and misaligned leg holes.

This sweater design is easier to get on and off your dog, because it’s constructed with one large leg-opening (made from a giant 1-row buttonhole). Simply slip it over your dog’s head and pop their legs through the wide, stretchy opening. Super simple!
